It’s important to take a moment and focus on building a positive and collaborative staff culture. It will help deadline completion go by much smoother. Find more activities and staff fun at ybk.link/staff-activities.
Foster Open Communication:
Create an environment where everyone feels comfortable sharing ideas and feedback.
Icebreaker Idea:Two Truths and a Lie – Have each staff member share two truths and one lie about themselves. The team can guess which one is the lie. This activity helps everyone get to know each other in a fun and relaxed way.
Encourage Collaboration:
Promote collaboration by assigning projects in pairs or small groups. This not only helps distribute the workload but also allows students to learn from one another.
Teambuilding Activity: Creative Brainstorming Session – Divide the staff into small groups and give each group a section of the yearbook to brainstorm. Have them present their ideas to the whole group. This gets everyone involved in the creative process.
Celebrate Successes:
Take time to recognize both individual and team achievements regularly. Positive reinforcement goes a long way in building morale and motivation.
Teambuilding Activity:Shout-Outs – Set up a bulletin board or post shoutouts on social media to and from staffers for their hard work and contributions. This can be done weekly or monthly, and it helps build a culture of appreciation.
