October is here and so may be your cover and endsheet deadline. There’s no reason to be scared with this Before You Submit checklist.
Quick Checklist: • Front lid includes the book name and year (if applicable) • Spine text includes your school name, book name, year and volume
• Design elements such as type and graphics are placed within the red margin lines • Spine copy and graphics are centered within the margins of the template and out of the crimp area • All elements that should not bleed or be wrapped around the board edge are 1 pica from the red margin • Print a high-res PDF of the cover • Double-check spelling, year and volume number • Colors on the printed PDF look like you would like them to print
• Photos/graphics are very clear; there is no pixelation. Remember to go by the PDF when judging color, not your monitor.
